# Campaigns

> Reach out first to many contacts over WhatsApp, using templates and lists.

**Campaigns** let you start the conversation: send a WhatsApp message to many contacts at once —a promotion, a notice, a reminder— in an organized and measurable way.

## How it works

    On WhatsApp, messages that **you initiate** must use a **template** approved by Meta. Create yours with the wizard (text, buttons, image) and submit it for approval from ApyConnect.

    Select a **contact list**. You can import lists from a CSV file and reuse them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Personalize">
    Fill in the template variables with each contact's data (for example, their name), so every message feels personal.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send and track">
    Launch the campaign and watch its progress live: sent, delivered, and replies.

## Contact lists

Lists are reusable audiences. When you import them, ApyConnect validates the numbers and lets you map your file's columns to the template variables (and even attach content per contact).

## Cost

Sending WhatsApp templates has a per-message cost set by Meta based on type and country. ApyConnect shows you the estimate before sending and deducts the usage from your **balance**. See [Billing](/en/cuenta/facturacion).

## Replies

When a contact replies to a campaign, that conversation enters your inbox like any other and your team handles it as usual.
